“Our house is filled with memories of living with our children a long time ago. After my children grew up and left the house, I thought about doing something new while building a new life for just the two of us - my wife and myself. I wanted to meet new people, talk to them, and I wanted to share the space where we had created so many great memories with other people. So, we decided to open Doldam House Main Hall.”
Our house has a stone wall that goes all the way around. Locals started calling our place the Doldam House Main Hall, which really grew on us over the years. So, we kept the name when we opened our guest house.
Our house was built in the traditional Hanok style using wood and clay. The large courtyard is very popular with large groups, such as students visiting us on school excursions. Doldam House Main Hall is so quiet that you will not hear a single car passing by during the day or night. And our guests tell us how refreshed and recharged they feel after a spending a night in a house built using only clay and wood.
We put a lot of care into giving people a good day. Doldam House Main Hall hopes to become a place people remember with all of its charms as a traditional Hanok house.
