“I’ve always loved Hanok houses, and I told myself I would love to live in a Hanok one day. I was thinking about ways I could meet people from different walks of life, talk to them, and share how awesome the Hanok Village is to people visiting Jeonju. And that’s when it hit me. I decided to open Eosahwa.”
Eosahwa is a paper flower that the king would give to those who had passed the public officials’ exam during the Joseon Dynasty period. We wanted to treat our guests like those public officials who had passed the officials' exam, who were always valued guests wherever they went, so we named our place “Eosahwa.”
We used traditional Hanok materials, including Gojae lumber, Gojaemun doors, and lacquered floor paper to deliver an authentic and complete Hanok experience. We also offer wine to our guests on our rooftop, which has a pretty view of tiled roofs nearby and Omokdae. In fact, our rooftop view is one of the biggest reasons why people choose to stay at Eosahwa.
Eosahwa works hard so that you can return home with the feeling that you have been treated like an honored guest at the Hanok Village.
