“I love meeting people and talking to them. So, I opened Gyodong Oegat Jip to let people from outside Jeonju in on all the little secrets Jeonju and the Hanok Village have to offer.”
I thought it would be a great idea if travelers could feel welcome and warm when they visit the Hanok Village here in Jeonju. To me, no place feels quite as warm and welcoming as my grandparents’ place, in particular, my maternal grandparents’ place. I wanted to recreate that down-to-earth and comfortable vibe, which is why I named my place the “Gyo-dongOegatjip (maternal grandparents’ place in Gyo-dong).” At Gyo-dongOegatjip, guests are welcome anytime.
Our unique charm is there for everyone to see and feel all over the house. In terms of architecture, the double-decker Dancheong paintings offer a unique style of beauty. I am also studying hard to tell guests about the history of the Hanok Village, as well as the stories behind various tourist attractions, nearby restaurants, and other points of interest, including great places to enjoy the sunset.
If you are looking for a comfortable place to stay, and learn about the history and culture of the Hanok Village, Gyodong Oegat Jip might just be the perfect place for you.
