“I used to have an office job. But I had this desire to try something new. I was exploring my options when I remembered how at ease I felt as a kid when I would visit my grandparent’s place. My mom’s parents used to live in a Hanok back then. So, I opened Daraeheon at the Hanok Village because I wanted to create a place that could give people a place to rest and relax.”
Daraeheon is a combination of the Chinese character for “plenty (da)” and “come (rae).” It literally reflects my hopes of having a lot of people visit Daraeheon for a chance to heal and recuperate.
Here, visitors can immerse themselves in the harmony of the serene beauty of a 55-year-old traditional Hanok built with red clay and wood. As a bonus, Daraeheon is located at the heart of Hanok Village near the center, making it easy to find and much more quiet. Most of all, I always put cleanliness and kindness first. That is why I share information on tourist attractions and restaurants around Jeonju with those who are not quite familiar with Jeonju.
For years to come, Daraeheon wants to remain a place you would want to visit again, a place that is always there, and a place where you are always welcomed with kindness.
