Since I was young, I have liked traditions; I have increasingly realized companionship is important to me. I thus decided to run a Hanok (traditional Korean house) guesthouse and visited several Hanok villages across the country. I loved Jeonju Hanok Village the most, and this house caught my attention.
Built in 1940, it used to be a boarding house for Jeonju High School students. Jeonju Hanok Madang features a spacious captivating yard and a tall persimmon tree. ‘Madang’ means ‘yard’ in Korean. The yard shows a different appearance from season to season. Remodeling was done for convenience.
Leaving the gate, the trail of Jeonjucheon Stream comes in sight. It is recommended to walk and take a photo while listening to the sound of water flowing.
Jeonju Hanok Madang is worth revisiting time and time again.
