My husband and I have lived in Jeonju Hanok Village for 50 years. In order to reside with my children after retirement, we built this house along with my eldest son, who majored in architectural engineering, using the art of traditional wood joinery—without nailing.
Crocks, azalea bonsai, pine trees, and wildflowers in the garden and stone walls encircling it exude peace, coziness, and warmth. We have created a place that binds a family together and brims with laughter.
I wash towels and vacuum guestrooms daily. Cleanliness and hygiene are our first priorities. Late fall brings bright persimmons and warm smiles to the garden.
