“I really wanted to live in a Hanok house since I was a little kid. A house with pretty roof tiles, a serene atmosphere, and a courtyard that gives you some much-needed peace of mind. I opened Gyodong 94 because I wanted to live a life where I could wake up refreshed and enjoy the sun setting beautifully every evening.”
I named my place “Gyodong 94” - its old address from the lot number address days - to make it easier to find for people.
Each room has a name in pure Korean: “Dacham” means “full,” “Eedeun” means “benevolent,” “Rumi” means “accomplish,” and “Daol” means “success.” If you take the first letter of each room, it becomes the phrase “Da Ee Ru Da” (to achieve everything), which is what I genuinely want for everyone who stays at Gyodong 94.
The spacious courtyard is decorated with various props and a fire pit that make the courtyard the perfect place for pictures. So far, everyone seemed to love the unique ambiance. Also, I help take guests to take photos with a polaroid camera to make their visit that much more unforgettable.
Gyodong 94 is a place that wants to share its blessings and give its guests the gift of a happy, pleasant day.
