“I majored in carpentry. And while I was thinking about what I really wanted to do for a living, I remembered the Hanok Village, which is something that comes to everyone’s mind when they think of Jeonju. I wanted to run my own business with a Hanok, so I chose to run my own Hanok Stay accommodation business because when I was in college studying carpentry, I really believed Hanok was an attractive style of architecture.” I was trying to find a way that made my Hanok Stay more memorable and easier to find, and that’s how I came up with the name Deoksugung. I wanted a name that suited the Hanok atmosphere and welcomed our guests with a private experience, so I went with Docchae Deoksugung. What our guests love about Docchae Deoksugung the most is the fact that they can stay at a detached Hanok house. People can spend their time alone when they come to Docchae Deoksugung. Also, our guests love to take pictures because of the exterior that looks fresh and modern despite being a Hanok house. Inside, we have different board games and Netflix for a fun night inside, and we also have a styler.
