I want to eat something that can pick me up.’ Back then, the Hanok Village didn’t have any dessert cafes that really fit the overall ambiance of the Village. So, I traveled the country and did my research before opening Grandma’s Best.” If you look at an old Hanok house, it often brings back memories of your childhood and gives you a warm and fuzzy feeling. Personally, I remember my grandma cooking an awesome meal for our family whenever we would visit. I wanted to give that kind of feeling to the people visiting my cafe, which is why I named it “Grandma’s Best.” Our signature menu is Ssanghwatang, which uses a recipe my father had handed down to me. Our Danpatjuk porridge and black sesame Patbingsu, which I traveled far and wide to find the best red beans and experimented for months to find the perfect recipe, are also popular items on our menu. Everyone likes them because we use only the best ingredients, and we never pinch pennies with our servings. Grandma’s Best hopes to become a place that brings back happy memories, like memories of visiting grandma’s place, when people come to the Jeonju Hanok Village.
