“People used to compliment me all the time for cooking hearty meals. My husband and I were looking for something to do after retirement, and I was good at cooking. So we decided to open a restaurant.”
We were trying to come up with a name for our new restaurant, and that is when I remembered this little town called Gangchon by the sea that had a gorgeous waterfront and scenery. Years later, I kept thinking about that trip from time to time. I even had dreams about it. The thought of Gangchon always brought a smile to my face, so we named our restaurant Gangchon Tteokgalbi.
We spare no expense when it comes to the ingredients we put in our dishes. Our hope is to serve up a hearty meal to everyone who travels to the Hanok Village. We make our own Jeotgal seasonings, our own Kimchi, and we get our hands on fresh seasonal produce from local markets every day to cook our food.
At Gangchon Tteokgalbi, we want everyone to feel like their meal was definitely worth every penny.
