Hanok Hyeyum
Hanok Hyeyum, a guesthouse that is filled with sunlight and energy
We rebuilt the house in which my husband lived during his childhood. As my father-in-law anticipates that it will be handed down to the next generation, the guestrooms took their names from my children. I think a place where one person visits 100 times is much better than a place where 100 people visit once. ‘Hyeyum’ is a pure Korean word, meaning ‘thinking.’ I hope travelers in Jeonju Hanok Village will be able to put aside their worries and think happy thoughts. The sign was written by Actor Myeong Gyenam, and the woodblock was cut by Kim Jongyeon, an Intangible Cultural Heritage holder. The sun shines on this south-facing house all day, which gives it vitality and vigor. In the evening, sunset glows and stars can be seen from the porch or the yard. I want to nurture intimate connections with our guests, bringing good spirits to them.
