Jeonju Zoo

Opened in 1978, the Jeonju Zoo is a must-see site for Jeonju travelers. It is a favorite place for family outings due to the many species of animals and excellent natural scenery. It is being developed as an ecological zoo to create a comfortable and happy place for the animals. Jeonju Dream Land has a retro feeling and became a popular place after BTS visited in 2019.



Deokjin Park

As a representative tourist spot of Jeonju, it is a romantic place to make memories with family, lovers, and friends. Deokjin Lake, a wide lake inside Deokjin Park, is full of lotus flowers every year in early July and has become a popular destination for travelers and photographers from all over the country. The Musical Fountain on Deokjin Lake is also a must-see at Deokjin Park.

Jeonju Arboretum of Korea Expressway Corporation is divided into the General Arboretum, Rock Garden, Herb Garden, Water Garden, Weed Garden, Rose Garden, Mugunghwa Garden, Juklim Garden, Student Garden, Temperate Zone Garden, Glass House, and Stream Garden for convenient observation, and it is widely used for field trips. It is not only a good spot for a date with a lover, or for a family outing, but is also a popular place for photos in all four seasons.


Jeonjugaeksa-gil (Gaekridan-gil)

It is located in Jungang-dong and Gosa-dong, and includes the neighborhood of Daga-dong's 1st and 2nd streets. This area was an entertainment and residential area in the 1970s and 1980s, but after the central business district of Jeonju moved in the 1990s, it became an area with a scarce, floating population. Then, from 2016, after the redevelopment zone was released, young entrepreneurs gathered here and it has now become a hot place full of various cafes and restaurants.

This place was once a factory called Psorex and has been revived by the power of art. It has transformed into a cultural platform that expresses “new artistic life” and currently operates as a special art space with an art playground, cafe, and art shop. Cafe Sunny (070-4236-1584) inside the Factory of Contemporary Arts has become a popular spot with its industrial interior and the best tasting coffee.


Jeonju Cheotmajung-gil

Cheotmajung-gil is built on a 850 m section of Baekje-daero from Jeonju Station to the Myeongjugol intersection. It is the road that gives you the first impression of Jeonju and is the road of the people of Jeonju who favor “a city of people”, rather than for cars, a city of ecology rather than concrete, and a city of curves rather than straight lines. It is a cultural space where children play at the Water Mirror in the summer, where flower festivals are held in the autumn, and light festivals are held in the winter. It also has various busking performances and flea markets.

It is a storage of intangible cultural heritage with facilities that include: the permanent exhibition room where you can discover the meaning and value of Korea's intangible cultural heritage, the special exhibition room with various themes, the performance hall where you can feel the beauty and excitement of tradition, the archive room where you can meet the past through a video on intangible heritage, the international conference room where active exchanges with foreign intangible cultural heritage occur, and educational spaces where you can experience the joy of intangible heritage with all your senses.



Seohak-dong Art Village

This village used to be called the teacher's village because there were so many teachers, students and others who were studying here. However, this gradually dwindled due to economic factors such as the decline in local businesses and residential facilities. Then, artists such as painters, embroiders and photographers moved here one by one, and galleries started to come in. Now, it is becoming a creative space where the residents and the artists beautifully communicate with each other.

Nature Ecological Museum

The museum that looks like the freshwater fish called swiri is located here, with Jeonjucheon in the front. This is where swiri, otters and mandarin ducks live. This area was awarded the Grand Prize in the 'Well-preserved Natural Heritage' category hosted by the Korea National Trust. It is an experience space where you can see and feel the ecology of nature through the water life story of Jeonjucheon, the waterside life story, the waterside ecology park, and the wildflower learning center.

Ajung Lake Ecology Park

The walking trail goes around Lake Ajung, making it an ideal place for walking and exercising. It is also famous for its cherry blossoms, and there is a large plaza in the middle of the trail. There are many cafes around the tip of Lake Ajung where you can enjoy a time of rest after the walk.

Jeonju National Museum

The Jeonju National Museum, which opened in 1990, currently has over 40,000 collections of folk material, along with archaeological, historical and art artifacts excavated from Jeollabuk-do or related to the regional history. More than 2,000 of these items are displayed in the four exhibition rooms and the outdoor garden. It is developing into a space that spreads not only the traditional culture of Jeollabuk-do but also the unique culture of Korea.

The railroad bicycle, designed to run a 3.4 km round trip from Ajung Station to Waemangsil at 15-20 km per hour, and located at the Ajung Station abandoned ship site near the Hanok Village, is the first rail bike in Korea that runs in the downtown area. It is continuing to gain popularity for personal travel, family trips, and experiential learning as an activity that the users can enjoy with all five senses throughout all four seasons.


Wansan Park

This area, known as Wansan Chilbong, is where a fierce battle occurred during the Donghak Peasant Revolution. Now, it is a forested citizen's park. Among the peaks of Wansan Chilbong, there is one flat ridge where the trees have not survived due to the frequent lightning. It is called the Helmet Peak because it looks like a soldier's helmet. Azaleas are in full bloom here each year and crowds of springtime picnickers come from mid-April to early May.

Located in the tree nursery of Jeonju-si near Ajung Station in Ua-dong, there is an Ecological Experience Learning Center and themed plant habitat, resting place and a walking trail. It is a natural playground where cornflowers bloom in summer and cosmos in autumn. It is a lively site of learning where you can experience the unique nature of each season by taking in the various aromas, colors, and fruits of plants.
