This was my in-law’s elaborate house, which was constructed over a period of two years. I thought it would be the best option for a Hanok guesthouse. In order to display the original element of Hanok (traditional Korean house), we do not plant flowers and trees in the courtyard. Fine soil covers it instead. I am confident to say that ‘The Hanok’ preserves the beauty of Hanok. Our large guesthouse is homely and joyful, embracing the essence of Yangban’s residence—Yangban was the ruling class during the Joseon Dynasty (1392-1910). Bathrooms and lounges were remodeled. The spacious dirt yard where the sun shines down, high ceiling lofts, and the harmony between my family and guest quarters are our pride. Limiting the number of guests, we guarantee greater safety in serenity.
